Description

This Bourbon-Infused Bacon Jam is a sweet and savory spread, perfect for crostini. The rich flavors of bacon and bourbon come together to create a delightful topping for any occasion.


Ingredients

– 1 pound thick-cut bacon

– 1 large onion, finely chopped

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

– 1/2 cup bourbon

– 1 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– Crostini (store-bought or homemade)


Instructions

1. 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

2. 2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.

3. 3. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

4. 4. Stir in the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, bourbon, black pepper, cayenne, and salt. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

5. 5. Chop the cooked bacon and add it back to the skillet. Simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the jam reaches your desired consistency.

6. 6. Remove from heat and let cool before serving on toasted crostini.


Notes

Store any leftover bacon jam in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

This jam pairs well with cream cheese or goat cheese on crostini.
