Ingredients
8 ounces elbow macaroni
4 slices bacon, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy; remove and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and whisk in the flour; cook for 1 minute.
5. Gradually add the milk, whisking until smooth; bring to a simmer.
6. Stir in the cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until melted and creamy.
7. Combine the macaroni, bacon, and cheese sauce in a baking dish; mix well.
8. Top with breadcrumbs and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, add some chopped green onions on top before serving.
