Description

Indulge in the rich and creamy Chocolate Hazelnut Bliss Cake, a decadent dessert that combines the flavors of chocolate and hazelnuts in a moist cake topped with a luscious hazelnut frosting.

Ingredients

Scale

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup hazelnuts, chopped

2 cups powdered sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

4. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.

5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6. Fold in the chopped hazelnuts.

7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.

8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

9. For the frosting, beat together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

10. Frost the cooled cakes and decorate with additional chopped hazelnuts if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.

Ensure the cakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.

This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
