Ingredients
8 oz elbow macaroni
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
3. Whisk in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Gradually whisk in milk and cream; cook until thickened.
5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
6. Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
7. If desired, top with breadcrumbs and crumbled bacon.
8. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
