Ingredients
4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish and top with half of the cheddar cheese.
4. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and cheese.
5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
7. Remove the foil and mix breadcrumbs with Parmesan cheese and sprinkle on top.
8. Bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For an extra kick, add cooked bacon bits or diced jalapeños to the layers.
Make sure to slice the potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
