Description

These Crispy Cheddar Jalapeño Poppers are the perfect blend of spicy and cheesy, making them a fantastic appetizer for any gathering. Served with a fiery dipping sauce, they are sure to be a hit!


Ingredients

– 12 fresh jalapeños

– 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

– 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 1 tsp garlic powder

– 1 tsp onion powder

– 1/2 tsp paprika

– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Oil for frying


Instructions

2. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat oil in a deep fryer.

3. 2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.

4. 3. In a bowl, mix together the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

5. 4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.

6. 5. In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

7. 6. Dip each filled jalapeño in the breadcrumb mixture, coating well.

8. 7. Place on a baking sheet or carefully lower into the hot oil.

9. 8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or fry until golden brown and crispy.

10. 9. For the dipping sauce, mix together hot sauce, sour cream, and a pinch of garlic powder.

11. 10. Serve hot with the fiery dipping sauce.


Notes

 

– For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.

– These can be made ahead of time and frozen, then baked directly from frozen for a quick appetizer.

– Adjust the spices to your liking – add more cayenne for a spicier kick!
