These crispy herb cheese stuffed mushrooms are a delightful appetizer that combines the earthy flavor of mushrooms with a creamy, cheesy filling, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
12 large mushrooms
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems.
3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Parmesan, parsley, chives, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
4. Stuff each mushroom cap with the cheese mixture.
5. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of each stuffed mushroom.
6. Drizzle olive oil over the mushrooms.
7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, add some cooked bacon bits to the cheese mixture.
These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
