Description

These Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts are a delightful side dish that combines the savory taste of crispy bacon with the natural sweetness of maple syrup, creating a mouthwatering glaze that perfectly complements the Brussels sprouts.

Ingredients

• 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

• 6 slices bacon, chopped

• 1/4 cup maple syrup

• 2 tablespoons olive oil

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

• Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Brussels sprouts, chopped bacon, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

3. 3. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet in a single layer.

4. 4. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are caramelized and the bacon is crispy.

5. 5. Drizzle the maple syrup over the Brussels sprouts and toss to coat.

6. 6. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 5 minutes.

7. 7. Remove from the oven, add chopped pecans if desired, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when mixing the Brussels sprouts.

You can substitute turkey bacon for a healthier option.
