Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
5. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Stir and bring to a simmer.
6. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 5-10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
7. Remove the meatballs from the oven and toss them in the maple bourbon glaze until evenly coated.
8. Serve warm, drizzled with extra glaze if desired.
Notes
These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated for parties.
Feel free to adjust the amount of bourbon to taste or substitute with apple cider for a non-alcoholic version.
