Ingredients

Scale

2 racks of baby back ribs

1 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup bourbon

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.

3. In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.

4. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.

5. Place the ribs in the smoker and cook for 4 hours.

6. Every hour, baste the ribs with the glaze mixture.

7. After 4 hours, wrap the ribs in foil and cook for an additional 1 hour.

8. Remove the ribs from the smoker, let them rest for 15 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the ribs marinate in the glaze overnight before smoking.

Adjust the level of cayenne pepper to control the heat.
