Description

These Sweet and Spicy Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts are a delicious side dish that combines the natural sweetness of maple syrup with a hint of spice, making them irresistible.


Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2. In a large bowl, combine the Brussels sprouts, olive oil, maple syrup, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

3. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated.

4. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.

5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until tender and caramelized.

6. If using, sprinkle chopped pecans over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting.

7. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.


Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of balsamic vinegar before roasting.
