Savory and sweet, these Whiskey Maple Glazed Bacon & Apple Brie Bites are the perfect appetizer for any gathering. The combination of crispy bacon, creamy brie, and fresh apples drizzled with a whiskey maple glaze will leave your guests asking for more!
Ingredients
8 slices of bacon
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons whiskey
1 large apple, thinly sliced
8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small pieces
1 package of puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
3. In the same skillet, add maple syrup and whiskey. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into squares. Place a piece of brie, a slice of apple, and a piece of bacon on each square.
5. Drizzle with the whiskey maple glaze.
6. Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the filling and brush with egg wash.
7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
These bites are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
