A refreshing side dish featuring crisp green beans tossed in a zesty lemon garlic sauce.
Ingredients
1 pound fresh green beans
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lemon, juiced
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Instructions
1. Trim the ends of the green beans.
2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
3. Add the green beans and blanch for 3 minutes.
4. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath.
5. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
6. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
7. Stir in the green beans, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
8. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
9. Finish with lemon zest before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add crushed red pepper flakes.
Serve immediately for the best texture.
